I love Georgette Heyer! I own all her books (including the contemporary detective stories) and re-read them often – they are my comfort reading. I think my favorite is Frederica, or The Grand Sophy, but it’s very difficult to choose. I had always assumed that the world in her books was one which she had created, but when I studied 18th century literature for an English degree I was delighted to find that it was authentic – I could understand the language in books written during the Regency, and the way in which society worked, from knowing Heyer’s books.
